Germantown Teens Mugged for Their Sneakers



Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from March 6 through March 14.

Police reported a strong-arm robbery of two juvenile male victims who were walking home from a party when they were assaulted by a two black males in their late teens on Tarragon Way in Germantown shortly after midnight on Sunday, March 12.

The victims were approached by two assailants and had their sneakers, cash and cell phone stolen. The victims were assaulted and robbed for a pair of Air Jordan 6 sneakers and a pair of Nike Foamposite basketball shoes, both pairs of shoes are worth approximately $200.

Montgomery County Police also reported three attempted auto thefts in the area of Milestone Apartment Complex on Great Park Circle in Germantown.

The first took place in the 12400 block of Great Park Circle between approximately 8:30 pm on March 10 and approximately 2:03 pm on March 11. Police say that a second attempted auto theft happened in the same block in the early morning hours of March 11.

According to police, on the same date a third attempted auto theft took place in 21100 block of Futura Court between approximately 6:00 pm on March 11 and approximately 7:35 am on March 12. Futura Court roughly 1,600 feet from Great Park Circle. Police cannot confirm that all three attempted auto thefts were related.

MCPD report a road rage incident led to one driver point a gun at another driver. Police say that at approximately 11:25 am on March 7 two motorists got into an argument in the area of Observation Drive and Germantown Road, when a white male driver displayed a handgun. Both drivers parted and police were notified.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between February 22 and February 25. Affected streets included Boulder Heights Terrace, Turtle Rock Terrace, Foreman Boulevard, Winged Elm Drive, and Honey Hill Lane in Clarksburg. Force was reported in one event, two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Police also reported multiple thefts from occurred between Friday, March 10 and Monday, March 13. Affected streets included Hickory Forest Way, Seneca Forest Circle, and Seneca Forest Court. No force, unknown means of entry into the vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Finally, multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday, March 6 and Tuesday, March 14. Affected streets included Timber Oak Lane, Circle Gate Drive, Century Boulevard, and Flag Harbor Drive. Force was reported in one event, two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on March 30.
