Germantown Elementary Teachers Surprised with Supply Boxes

March 8, 2017

Teachers at Germantown Elementary received surprise supply packs from the local Verizon store last month.

Round Room LLC, the nation’s largest Verizon Authorized Wireless Retailer and operator of the Verizon Store on Century Boulevard in Germantown, announced that more than 500 of its TCC stores have donated school supply packs to 5,610 teachers across the U.S. The fourth annual Teachers Rock Supply Giveaway campaign, which took place in February, was a joint effort between the company and its customers. Since 2015, TCC has donated more than 8,000 supply packs to teachers across the country.

Ten teachers from Germantown Elementary School received the supply packs—valued at $60 each—filled with glue, pencils, pens, markets, erasers, paper, tissue boxes and more.

Each participating TCC store partnered with a local school to select 10 deserving teachers and provided them with supply packs—valued at $60 each. Each supply pack enables a teacher to impact an average of 30 students.

“We found that teachers spend an average of $500 a year, out-of-pocket, to make sure their classrooms are stocked with necessary supplies,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room, parent company of TCC. “At TCC, we believe teachers deserve so much more for all the work they do year-round. Replenishing their supplies is just one more way we are ‘Making Communities Better’ and we’re proud to be able to do it.
