Beer and Wine Store Robbed at Knifepoint Twice in 10 Days
Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from February 6 through February 14.
Montgomery County Police report that the Middlebrook Beer & Wine located at 19601 Frederick Road was robbed by a man wielding a knife for the second time in 10 days.
Police say the store was robbed at approximately 5 pm on Monday, Feb. 13 by a Hispanic male with a knife. The robber ordered the cashier to put cash in a bag. He also stole the cashier’s cell phone and took a bottle of wine on the way out the door.
Just ten days earlier on Feb. 3, an armed robbery occurred the same beer and wine store. In that case, a suspect displayed a knife and took cash from the register and fled the area. Police did not release a description of the assailant in that incident.
Police also reported an armed robbery in the 18700 block of Martins Landing Drive. According to police, an adult woman was walking behind the townhouses on Martins Landing Drive at about 11:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 7 when she was approached by a black male who asked her for money. When she refused to comply, the suspect displayed a black semi-automatic handgun. The victim screamed, and the suspect fled on foot.
MCDP reported a vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the 18800 block of Summer Oak Court between approximately 5:30 am on Tues. Feb. 7 and approximately 9:00 am on February 8. The vehicle, a 2007 Ford Explorer, was apparently left unlocked. It was recovered on February 11; it had been abandoned along westbound I-495 near Riggs Road in Adelphi, Md.
MCPD reported five burglaries from February 9 to February 14.
The first, commercial burglary occurred at the Passion Nail Spa located at 19847 Century Boulevard in the early morning hours of February 9. Forced entry; cash was taken.
Another commercial burglary occurred at the AT&T Store located at 20934 Frederick Road in the early morning hours of February 10. Forced entry; property was taken.
A residential burglary occurred in the 14000 block of Steed Court in Germantown between approximately 3:00 pm and approximately 4:30 pm on February 11. No signs of forced entry, it was reported that the victim left the garage door open and the interior garage door unlocked; property was taken.
An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 19100 block of Partridge Wood Drive at approximately 11:16 pm on February 13. The suspect is described as a black male of unknown age.
Montgomery County Police report that multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between February 6 and February 14. Affected streets included Waters Point Lane, Sunbright Lane, Partridge Wood Drive, Summer Oak Drive, Rathbone Court, Esmond Terrace, Shadyside Way, Ambassador Drive, Country Ridge Drive, and Hazelnut Court. Force was reported in one event; one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, Unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between February 6 and February 8. Affected streets included Honey Crisp Lane, Cider Barrel Drive, and Choctaw Court. Force was reported in one event; one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, Unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; property was taken.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between February 11 and February 13. Affected streets included Gallop Terrace, Steeple Place, Jump Drive, and Quiet Oak Lane. Force was reported in one event, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.
Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the early morning hours of February 19. Affected streets included Found Stone Road, Emerald Drive, and Bunyan Circle. No force, all vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; cash and property were taken.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on March 7.
