Germantown has been ranked as the 2nd Most Diverse city in America in WalletHub.com’s 2017 ranking of most diverse population areas in the country, which was released on Wednesday. Germantown came in behind Jersey City, NJ, which took the top spot for a second year in a row. In last year’s ranking, Germantown was fifth most diverse so as a town, Germantown has grown ever more diverse since last year.
Rounding out the top five most diverse cities in America were, Jersey City, NJ, Germantown, Gaithersburg (last year’s number 2), Silver Spring, and Spring Valley, NV.
Germantown was the ranked the No. 1 Most Diverse Small City in American with a Cultural Diversity Score of 94.22. Indeed, four Montgomery County cities were at the top of the Small City list, with Gaithersburg in the second spot (93.40), Silver Spring in third (92.59) and Rockville in fourth with (87.94). Frederick, Md, was 25 on the Small City list.
While Germantown ranked second overall, it was ranked third in terms of Ethno-Racial Diversity and 8th in Linguistic Diversity.
