Work Begins on Century Boulevard Mixed-Use Development
Work has begun on a project which will bring almost 500 residences and a hotel to an area close to the Germantown Town Center.
The project which is located on Century Boulevard on what was once known as the Century Technology Campus near Cloverleaf Center Drive calls for 160 townhouses, 28 2-over-2 dwelling units, five multi-family buildings with a combined 300 dwelling units, as well as over 300,000-square-feet of office space and an 85,000-square-foot hotel.
The project, a joint venture between Trammell Crow Company and NVCommerical will transform the former Orbital Sciences Corporate Campus into a new mixed-use community, gained Planning Board approval in February of 2016 calls for the demolition of five commercial which once stood or are still partially standing on the property. Demolition work began on the structures last month in preparation for the new construction to begin in the spring. Workers and earth moving equipment could be seen taking down the old commercial buildings which were located along the southbound edge of I-270.
The approved plan for the property includes a cluster of 5 multi-family buildings (with a combined total of 300 dwelling units on the northern portion of the property which is across from 20410 Century Boulevard. “This cluster also features a clubhouse and swimming pool amenity area.
