Two Injured After Drive-By Shooting Near Roberto Clemente Middle School
Montgomery County Police are looking for help from the public after two young men were shot by a passing vehicle on Saturday night at near the intersection of Waring Station Road and Summer Oak Drive, which is directly in front of Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown.
Two unidentified young men, ages 18 and 20 are recovering from gunshot wounds after being shot while walking on the street with a group of about 30 other people. One victim was shot in the foot, and the other victim had been shot in the leg by a passing car.
According to police, the incident took place Saturday, Feb. 11 shortly before 10:00 pm, when a group of young people was turned away from a house party at a townhouse on Summer Oak Drive. Montgomery County Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks said the group of about 30 people was turned away from the party because they were not invited to the party which was taking place in a nearby townhouse on Summer Oak Drive.
The group, which had been turned away from the house party, remained in the area a walked to the intersection of Waring Station Road and Summer Oak Drive. During this time, a vehicle, described as a white Chevrolet Impala or silver sedan, drove through the intersection and shots were fired from the vehicle. The two victims were struck by bullets. They were transported to Suburban Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
