Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Germantown Area
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Germantown area beginning at 1:00 am tonight until 9:00 am Thursday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. “Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving,” said the National Weather Service.
The area is bracing for the first impacts of a storm which will bring wintery weather to the Germantown area and area north and west of Germantown. Light snow is expected begin falling overnight after 1:00 am, Thursday, Feb. 9 and continue overnight making travel conditions hazardous for the Thursday morning commute.
Snow is expected late tonight through 9:00 am on Thursday morning. The National Weather Service is forecasting snow for tonight with accumulations of around 1 to 3 inches of snow by morning for the Germantown area. Temperatures will be in the low the mid-30s with north winds of 5 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph possible.
