Driver Unhurt After Car Flips on Blunt Road

January 12, 2017

The Thursday morning commute did not go well for one man after he hit a utility pole and flipped his car on Blunt Road.

Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue responded to the area of Blunt Road between Cross Laurel Drive and Germantown Road at 7:50 am on Thursday, Jan 12 for a single vehicle collision between a silver BMW and a utility pole which ended with the BMW on its top.

The driver was unhurt and able to extricate himself from the vehicle. The utility pole was completely broken in half by the force of the impact which severely damaged the car and forced it on its roof. However, the pole did not come down as the wires and other supports held it pretty much in place and Pepco did not report any power outages as a result of the collision.
