Mini Crime Wave Breaks Out on Clarksburg Street
Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from November 28 through December 6, 2016.
One street in Clarksburg experienced a crime spree including attempted theft from auto, burglary, and two stolen cars. Police cannot confirm that all the crimes were committed by the same suspect or suspects, but are investigating whether or not these crimes were all connected.
Montgomery County Police report that overnight on Tuesday, Nov. 29 to the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 30 a 2014 Honda Accord was stolen in the 22400 block of Glenbow Way in Clarksburg between approximately 6:30 pm on and approximately 9:00 am.
According to an MCPD spokesperson, when officers responded to the report of the first stolen vehicle, they were informed of three addition crimes which had taken place in the same time frame. Police say that an attempted theft from vehicle occurred in the same block around the same time.
Police were also told of a 2015 Infinity Q50 was stolen on an adjacent street in the 100 block of Prado Lane between approximately 8:00 pm. The vehicle was recovered later that evening on November 30
During the same time, police were informed of a residential garage burglary, and theft from vehicle occurred at the same residence in the 22400 block of Glenbow Way in the early morning hours of November 30.
In all cases there was no force used to enter the vehicles or the garage, said police. MCPD also reported that both auto thefts, the victims were unsure if a spare key was left in the vehicle that was stolen, the garage and vehicle in the garage were both left unlocked.
MCPD also reported an attempted strong-arm robbery occurred on Observation Drive in the area of Great Park Circle in Germantown at approximately 8:30 pm on Tuesday, Dec 6. Police said the suspects are two black males one age unknown the other was between 25 and 30 years old.
Police report that 2000 Honda Odessey was stolen in the 25500 block of Butterfield Way in Damascus between approximately 2:00 am and 9:00 am on Sunday, Dec. 4. No force, unknown means of entry; a key was reported to have been left inside the vehicle.
Montgomery County Police reported two residential burglaries in Germantown. The first occurred on 18400 block of Stone Hollow Drive between 9:45 am and approximately 12:00 pm on Friday, Dec. 2. Forced entry; property was taken.
The second occurred in the 13500 block of Duhart Road in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 3. Again police report forced entry; nothing was taken.
In Damascus, MCPD reported multiple thefts from vehicles occurred over the weekend between Friday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec 4. Affected streets include Joy Lane, Coltrane Drive, Canvasback Way, and Shelldrake Circle in Damascus. No force, two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.
