Serious Crash Closes Clarksburg Road in Both Directions

Shortly before 10:00 am Wednesday morning, Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue units responded to reports of a two-car collision on Clarksburg Road, just north of Ridge Oak Drive in Boyds.

The collision occurred on a stretch of road between Ridge Oak Drive and Top Ridge Drive on Clarksburg Road in Boyds.

MCFRS transported two adult females from the scene to local hospitals with serious Priority 1 injuries. Initially, fire rescue personnel had requested a medevac helicopter for on victim because she may be pregnant. However, the helicopter was not utilized.

The horrific collision scene shows what appears to be a white Lincoln Town Car that has been T-boned by a black Jeep SUV. According to police on the scene, the Town Car was traveling northbound, and the passenger side wheels had become stuck in a deep rut on the side of the road. Allegedly, while trying to get out of the rut, the vehicle jumped out of the rut and ended up almost across the road blocking both lanes. It is believed that at the same time that the Town Car was across the road, the Jeep was traveling southbound and struck the Town Car square on the passenger side.

As of the posting of this article shortly before noon, Clarksburg Road remained closed as police investigated the collision. According to MCFRS spokesman Pete Piringer, both adult females were transported in serious condition.
