Seneca Valley’s Feliz-Platt Named Player of the Year

Seneca Valley’s 8-2 record, unbelievably did not include a post-season bid, but the 2016 Screamin’ Eagles surely left an impression on opponents as senior running back Adrian Feliz-Platt was named 2016 3A Player of the year by the opposing coaches and five other players were given First Team All-League Honors, while two more were Honorable Mention.

Feliz-Platt ran for 2,579 yards on 201 carries during the Eagles 2016 campaign. The 2,579 mark places him ninth on the all-time single season rushing list, just ahead of Travon Austin of Dunbar High School in Baltimore, who went on to play in the NFL, according to the Maryland High School Football Foundation. Feliz-Platt averaged 12.8 yards per carry. He racked up 42 rushing touchdowns, and one receiving touchdown. He caught 10 passes for 145 yards. A two-way player, Feliz-Platt also played linebacker and received kicks on punts and kickoffs.

On September 30, Feliz-Platt had a record breaking night scoring nine touchdowns to set a new Maryland high school record for touchdowns in a game and points scored by one player in a game at 54.

Feliz-Platt ends his career at Seneca Valley with 5,618 total rushing yards over four years, which puts him sixth all-time in Maryland. Over his four years at Seneca Valley, he rushed the ball 564 times for an average of 10 yards per carry.

The senior running back announced last night that he will continue his football career at Towson University by accepting a scholarship to play for the Tigers next season.

The Screamin’ Eagles had five players take home First-Team All League honors, they are junior wide receiver Harold Dotson, senior offensive lineman Olawale Layeni, senior linebacker Sale Sirleaf, junior defensive lineman Manasseh Joaquin, and senior punter Zack Robinson.

Joaquin was also give Honorable Mention as an offensive lineman. Senior defensive back Lance Wilson was also given Honorable Mention.
