Seneca Valley to Host Vendor Fair to Benefit Special Education
Seneca Valley High School will host a Vendor Fair at the school on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
According to Rebecca Sutton, a special education resource teacher at the school, the event will be held in the cafeteria at the school which is located at 19401 Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown.
“We are trying to raise money to purchase more technology to use in our special education classrooms and with our students with disabilities,” explained Sutton. “Many of the departments in the building have Chromebooks in their classes now, but many of our students with Learning Disabilities often need additional time to learn new forms of technology. As more and more of their assignments are being done on these Chromebooks, we would like to have additional devices available for them to use when they come to the Special Education Teachers for support. We also have many students with Autism or Intellectual Disabilities who are non-verbal or have limited verbal communication skills. There is a lot of technology out there to help these students communicate their wants, needs, and thoughts. We would like to use some of the money raised from this event to purchase technology to assist all of our student with special needs.”
The 1st Annual Vendor Fair is open to the public and will feature the following companies which have confirmed that they will be in attendance; Initials Inc., Usborne Books, Scentsy, LuLaRoe, David Mitchell Clothing, Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski, Keep Collective, Turn 2 Sports Inc., Jamberry, Discovery Toys, Young Living Essential Oils, and more.
