ACE Project to Host Germantown Coat Drive

The ACE Project – Athletes for Community Excellence will be hosting its 1st Annual Germantown Community Coat Drive at Seneca Valley High School located in Germantown. The coat drive will begin on November 12 and be available from 12:30 pm till 3:30 pm.

This coat drive is possible due to a partnership formed with The ACE Project, Montgomery County 5th District Police Department, and the Upcounty Regional Office as part of County Executive Leggett's Positive Youth Development Initiative

Winter coat donations for both youth and adults can be made by pulling into the parking lot off of Middlebrook Road adjacent to the Seneca Valley High School Tennis Courts. Local ACE Athletes from the Seneca Valley High School Football Program will be readily available to take any donations one may have directly from your car if need be.

“All winter coat donations will be re-allocated and distributed to those in need within our Germantown community. Local Germantown elementary schools will receive priority, and the remaining coat donations will be dispersed to other area youth in need,” said Ali Hashemzadeh, the founder of The ACE Project at Seneca Valley High School.

Started by Hashemzadeh, who is an assistant football coach as Seneca Valley, The ACE Project stands for Athletes for Community Excellence. It is a grassroots organization centered in Germantown with a desire to better the community with the help of students and student-athletes.

“We are chasing positive change in Germantown, one project and athlete at a time,” he said.
