Three Vehicles Stolen in Clarksburg on Same Night

Montgomery County Police detectives from the 5th District are investigating a rash of stolen vehicles in the Clarksburg Village neighborhood. Investigators believe the thefts are related, said MCPD spokesperson Corporal Rebecca Innocenti.

Police reported three vehicles stolen from two blocks in Clarksburg within a 24-hour period running from Tuesday, Oct. 11 through Wednesday, Oct. 12. Two vehicles were reported stolen on Oct. 11 and a third was stolen the following day Oct. 12 from streets which are less than a mile away from each other in the Clarksburg Village development. The first two vehicles have been recovered; the third remains stolen.

The first vehicle theft — of a 2006 Honda Accord — took place on Oct. 11 in the 23300 block of Arora Hills Drive between 9:30 pm and 6:30 am on Oct. 12. That vehicle was recovered on Monday, Oct. 24 on Panthers Ridge Drive in Germantown. Police say they are unsure how the suspect got into the vehicle but report that a spare key left inside the vehicle was used to start it and steal it.

The second stolen vehicle, a 2006 Acura TL, was stolen that same night between 9:00 pm and 7:30 am from the 22400 block of Castle Oak Road in Clarksburg. The vehicle was recovered on Neelsville Church Road in Germantown on Oct. 13. Police are unsure how the suspects were able to enter the vehicle.

The third vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Camry was stolen that same night from the 22500 block of Castle Oak Road between 3:00 am and 10:10 am on Oct. 12. That vehicle has not yet been recovered.
