Montgomery County detectives are investigating a second home invasion robbery which took place on Sunday night, Oct. 23.
Police confirm that officers responded to a home invasion robbery at 13321 Dovedale Way in Germantown, about 10:56 pm on Sunday, Oct. 23. According to Corporal Rebecca Innocenti, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Police Department, detectives do not believe that this was a random act. The suspects remain at large.
Innocenti said that multiple suspects forced their way into an apartment at 13321 Dovedale Way. She said that the victim provided responding officers with a vehicle description and MCPD officers located a vehicle matching the description not far from the original scene of the robbery. When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Crownsgate Way and Rockingham Road, the suspects stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. MCPD continue to investigate this incident, and the suspects remain at large.
This second incident took place less than a mile from, and a few hours after, the first home invasion which left two people with serious injuries from a stabbing on Kilmarnock Way earlier that same night.
Note: An earlier version of this story mistakenly identified the location of this incident at Dovetail Way. There is no Dovetail Way in Germantown. It has been corrected.
