Homecoming Tradition Revived at Seneca Valley

At Friday’s football game, Seneca Valley revived a Homecoming Game tradition. For many years, the school had a tradition of asking a special needs student to participate in the Homecoming Coin Toss. 2013 Graduate Jannah Sutton was one such student. She did the coin toss in 2008 Homecoming game against Wheaton.

Sadly, Jannah passed away this summer. The school wanted to commemorate her life and her Seneca Valley Pride by bringing back this tradition as the Jannah Sutton Memorial Coin Toss.

Jannah’s father, James Sutton, joined the captains for the coin toss on Friday night, and the Screamin’ Eagles invited one of Jannah’s peers, Michele Andrade, who will do the coin toss for our 2016 Homecoming Game vs. Wheaton High School. Michele has previously been a member of the Screaming Eagles Varsity Cheerleading team.
