Police Make Arrest in Connection With Thursday’s Shooting

Montgomery County Police announced Friday night that an arrest had been made in connection with the shooting which took place on the Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Midridge Drive and Archdale Road in Germantown.
Police have charged Nassir Eggleston, 20, of the 21900 block of Ivy Leaf Drive in Boyds, with possession of a handgun.

According to Montgomery County Police, officers responded to reports of shots being fired in the area of 19300 block of Midridge Road at about 4:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 13. Witnesses reported to police that the occupants of a blue Toyota Corolla and the occupants of a blue or gray colored Dodge passenger vehicle had been shooting at each other. Officers searched the area of Midridge Road and were able to locate evidence that shots had been fired in that area.
While officers were investigating the initial reports of four shots being fired in the area witness came running up to officers saying that she had just seen the Toyota Corolla drive past the area on Archdale Road.

According to police, officers responded to the area of Ashworth Court and located the Corolla as it was backing out of a parking space in front of a residential home. Officers stopped the Corolla and spoke with the occupants of the vehicle. Officers determined the home that the Corolla’s occupants had been in and spoke with the owner of that home. Officers determined that Eggleston was currently inside the home.

Officers spoke with Eggleston and ultimately recovered a Ruger .40 caliber handgun inside of a bag that was in his possession. Officers located additional evidence in Eggelston’s bag that was determined to be related to the shooting that had occurred on Midridge Road.
Eggleston was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor (persons under 21). He is currently being held on a $35,000 bond.
Officers continue to investigate this crime and are urging anyone who may have additional information about the shooting or information about the blue or gray colored Dodge passenger vehicle to contact them at 240-773-6200.
