Two Shot in Domestic-Related Attempted Murder/Suicide

October 9, 2016

A husband and wife suffered life-threatening injuries after an apparent attempted murder/suicide in the Middlebrook Mobile Home Park in Germantown Sunday morning.

According to Montgomery County Police, on Sunday, Oct. 9 at approximately 6:08 am, the Emergency Communication Center received a call from a resident in the 19500 block of Frederick Road stating that he wanted his wife removed from their home. 5th District officers responded to the home and interviewed the husband and wife. Officers determined that there had been a verbal argument and there was no physical altercation. The female stated she would be leaving the home shortly and the officers left the residence.

The mobile home where the incident occurred is at the corner of Nashua Drive and Princess Avenue inside the Middlebrook Mobile Home Park at 19515 Frederick Road.

Later that same morning, at about 7:52 am, 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded back to that same residence after a 9-1-1 call from an adult female stating she had been shot by her husband, said police. The victim stated that her husband also shot himself as well.  The weapon used was recovered on the scene.

Montgomery County Police reported that both the husband and wife were transported to area hospitals suffering from life-threatening injuries. According to sources, the adult female had been shot three times, and the male suffered one gunshot wound to his head. There was no official word on the condition of either of the individuals involved.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division are continuing to investigate this double shooting as a domestic-related event.
