Five Burglaries in Germantown in September

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Sept. 5 through Sept. 20.

Police reported five burglaries in Germantown between Sept. 10 and Sept. 19.

The first was a residential burglary which took place in the 19900 block of Sweetgum Circle in Germantown between 1:30 am and 1:30 pm on Saturday, Sept. 10. Police report no forced entry, but property was stolen.

The second burglary took place in the 12100 block of Stardrift Drive in Germantown in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 13. No forced entry; property was taken.

Another residential burglary also took place on Tuesday, Sept. 13 in the 19200 block of Circle Gate Drive during the early morning hours. Again, no forced entry, but property was stolen.

A residential burglary occurred in the 13000 block of Waters Discovery Lane in the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 18. Police report no forced entry; property was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Extra Space Storage located at 13200 Wisteria Drive in the early morning hours of Monday, Sept. 19. Forced entry; property was taken.

And a second burglary on Monday, Sept. 19 was a residential burglary that occurred in the 12700 block of Longford Glen Drive in the early morning hours of Sept. 19. No forced entry; property was taken. Police are looking for two male suspects in this incident.

Montgomery County Police say that thefts from unlocked vehicles are common but easily preventable crimes that continue to be a high-volume call for MCP. Residents can reduce neighborhood crime and prevent themselves from being victimized by locking vehicle doors and removing valuables from vehicles.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday, Sept, 5 and Wednesday, Sept. 7. Affected streets include Sweetspire Drive and Newcut Road in Clarksburg. No force; property was taken.

A second spate of multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Thursday, Sept. 8 and Sunday, Sept 10. Affected streets include Kings Arrow Court and Abbotsford Circle in Germantown. No force; cash and property were taken.

MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Sept. 30.
