Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Jan. 5 through Jan. 19.
Police reported that two beer and wine stores were burglarized along Route 355 in the Clarksburg/Germantown area within the same week, however, police do not believe that the incidents are related.
The first incident occurred at the Middlebrook Beer and Wine store at 19590 Frederick Road in Germantown during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 12. No forced entry, but the suspect, who police believe may be an Asian male, stole nothing but lottery tickets from the store.
In an unrelated incident, the Clarksburg Groceries Beer and Wine store located at 23329 Frederick Road in Clarksburg was broken into at 4:37 am on Sunday, Jan. 17. Police say that store security cameras showed an 18- and 30-year-old black male kicking in the glass front door of the store. He was dressed in a long dark blue jacket and khaki pants. Police say this burglar made off with bottles of wine.
MCPD reported another commercial burglary that occurred in the early morning hour of Thursday, Jan. 14 at the Salvation Army located at 20021 Aircraft Drive in Germantown. No forced entry, but property was taken.
Another commercial burglary was reported at the Liberty Gas Station located at 23300 Clarksburg Road overnight between Saturday, Jan. 16 and Sunday, Jan. 17. Police report that force was used to break into the building and merchandise was stolen.
Police report that five residential burglaries between Jan. 5 and Jan. 16.
There were two residential burglaries occurred the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 5. They occurred in the 20000 block of Neerwinder Street and the 19000 block of Hottinger Circle in Germantown. Forced entry; nothing taken.
A residential burglary occurred in the 12100 block of Elm Forest Court on Monday, Jan. 11 between 8:00 am and 3:30 pm. No forced entry; cash and property were taken.
Another residential burglary occurred in the 20200 block of Laurel Hill Way in the early morning hours of Friday, Jan 15. Forced entry; property taken.
The fifth residential burglary occurred in the 14200 block of Bear Creek Drive on Tuesday, Jan. 16 between 5:45 pm and 10:45 pm. Forced entry; property taken.
Police also reported multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 12 in the area of Summer Oak Court and Brittania Circle. No force; cash and property were taken.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Jan. 28.
