Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from August 22 through August 2.
Police say that three vehicles were stolen in the span of three days at different times, from different addresses in Germantown, and a motorcycle was stolen four days later.
The first vehicle was taken from the 19100 block of Wheatfield Drive during the day on Wednesday, August 24 between 9:30 am and 6:20 pm in the evening. It is unknown how the thief was able to enter the vehicle.
The second stolen vehicle was taken from the Milestone Shopping Center located in the 20900 block of North Frederick Road in Germantown in the afternoon between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm. According to police, the victim had parked his vehicle after being involved in a minor motor vehicle accident, and left it with the keys in the vehicle to retrieve his insurance documents and when he returned the vehicle had been stolen. That vehicle was later recover by police on Friday, September 2.
The third stolen vehicle was taken from the 20800 block of Shakespeare Drive in Germantown in the early morning hours of Friday, August 26. Police say that the thief found a spare key to the stolen vehicle while searching a second vehicle which was unlocked in the driveway. The suspect then used that key to steal the vehicle.
Four days later, on Tuesday, August 30 police say a motorcycle was stolen from the 20000 block of Appledowre Circle in Germantown in the early morning hours. The motorcycle was recovered later that that same day.
Montgomery County Police have arrested a man in a road rage incident after he allegedly pointed a gun at another driver while on Ridge Road in the area of Frederick Road in Germantown at 3:40 pm on Monday, August 29. Police say that charged 50-year-old Edward Joseph Stefanski of 14500 block of Bubbling Spring Road in Boyds, with two counts of First-Degree Assault and two counts of Reckless Endangerment after he allegedly pointed a handgun at another driver.
MCPD reported a residential garage burglary occurred in the 18500 block of Kingshill Road in Germantown in the early morning hours of Friday, August 26. Forced entry; nothing was taken.
Montgomery County Police continue to urge all residents to remove valuables from vehicles and lock the vehicle doors overnight.
Once again the Germantown area was hit with a large number of thefts from vehicles. Police report multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the M1 beat between August 22 and August 30. Affected streets include Liberty Heights, Pine Ridge Court and Kingshill Road. Force reported in one event; property was taken
Police also report multiple thefts from vehicles in the N1 beat occurred between August 22 and August 30. Affected streets include Sky Blue Drive, Scovell Terrace, Alderleaf Terrace, Teakwood Lane, Country Ridge Drive, and Gunnerfield Court. No force; cash and property were taken.
Police also report multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 28. Affected streets include Maycrest Way, Grassy Knoll, Golden Meadow Court, and Little Fox Lane. No force; cash and property were taken.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Sept. 12.
