County Offers Free Required Immunizations to Rising 7th Grade Students

Montgomery County Public Schools remind parents of students entering seventh grade when school starts next week, which rising seventh graders have new immunization requirements announced in 2014 that require students to have one Tdap (Tetanus-diphtheria-attenuated pertussis) and one meningococcal (MCV4) vaccination.
Montgomery County Health and Human Services staff will provide free Tdap and MCV4 vaccinations to incoming seventh-grade students at several locations throughout the County beginning in late August. Eighth and ninth grade students entering a Maryland school for the first time should also receive the vaccinations in order to comply with the requirements. No appointment is necessary. A parent or designated adult must be present. Please bring a copy of the child’s immunization record to the clinic.
Locally the clinics will be held:
Saturday, August 27 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Germantown Health Center located at 12900 Middlebrook Road in Germantown.
Tuesday, September 13 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Clemente Middle School located at 18808 Waring Station Road in Germantown.
Thursday, September 15 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rocky Hill Middle School located at 22401 Brick Haven Way in Clarksburg.
Other clinics will be held in other parts of the county;
Saturday, August 27 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Dennis Avenue Health Center located at 2000 Dennis Avenue in Silver Spring.
Tuesday, September 13 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Benjamin Banneker Middle School located at 14800 Perrywood Drive in Burtonsville, and at Eastern Middle School located at 300 University Boulevard, East in Silver Spring.
Wednesday, September 14 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Gaithersburg Middle School located at 2 Teacher’s Way in Gaithersburg, and at Argyle Middle School at 2400 Bel Pre Road in Silver Spring, and also at Francis Scott Key Middle School at 910 Schindler Drive in Silver Spring.
Thursday, September 15 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Briggs Chaney Middle School located at 1901 Rainbow Drive, Silver Spring, and at White Oak Middle School at 12201 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring
