MCFRS Called for Townhouse Garage Fire in Clarksburg

Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service units were called to a Clarksburg garage for the report of a fire on Wednesday afternoon.

   According to MCFRS spokesman, firefighters were called to the end-of-row townhouse at 23053 Sweet Spire Drive in Clarksburg at about 2:40 pm on August 10. The small fire was contained to the garage by the sprinkler system of the building.

   While first arriving units reported, smoke showing from the garage and it was initially believed that there was vehicle fire in the garage, once

firefighters were able to remove the garage door and gain entrance it was discovered that fire was a small area of combustibles in the garage. “The fire was contained by the sprinkler system to a two-foot by two-foot area in the garage. There was no further extension and no injuries, and no one was displaced by the fire,” said an MCFRS spokesman.
