Germantown Teen to Compete for Miss Teen USA Title in Las Vegas on Saturday

Amy Ingram, a member of the Class of 2015 from Seneca Valley High School and Germantown resident, is set to compete for the title of Miss Teen USA this Saturday, July 30 in Las Vegas.

Ingram was crowned Miss Teen Maryland USA in November.

“The people in Germantown have always encouraged me,” Ingram told the Germantown Pulse back in November. “My community has always supported me. I really love my high school. They have been so proud of me. I love how Seneca Valley was so supportive. They were always encouraging and supportive when it came to pageants. They knew how hard I was preparing and the time it took out of my schooling.”

The 19-year-old Ingram, who is set to start her sophomore year at Towson University, began participating in pageants when she was 16. “I have always wanted to get into modeling, and someone had mentioned to me that pageants were a good way to break into modeling,” said Ingram.

In the meantime, she will be making appearances around the state and participate in Miss Teen USA events in New York City and Chicago. All the while she will be promoting her One More Smile project that encourages people to give back to their communities.

The Miss Teen USA pageant will be streamed live beginning at 8:00 pm on MissTeenUSA. com, and on Facebook, and YouTube.com, according to the pageant website.

Ingram is the second straight Germantown resident to hold the title of Miss Teen Maryland USA, her predecessor Taylor Dawson, was also a resident and served as Miss Teen Maryland USA 2015.
