NWS Issues Heat Advisory for Monday

July 25, 2016

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Germantown and all of Montgomery County from noon until 8:00 pm tonight, Monday, July 25.

“Heat index values around 108 degrees due to temperatures in the between 95 and 100 degrees and dewpoints in the lower 70s,” said the National Weather Service advisory.

“A Heat Advisory means that a period of high temperatures is expected,” said the NWS. “The combination of high temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.”

Wear light weight or loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water, suggested the NWS.
