MCFRS Responds to Small Kitchen Fire



Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service units responded to a fire in a townhouse on the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown on Friday evening.


On Friday, July 22, MCFRS units were called to unit 13 of the two-story townhouse in the Hamptons at Town Center on Crystal Rock Drive for a small kitchen fire at about 6:00 pm. Firefighters working in 94-degree heat in the late afternoon, with the Heat Index above 100 worked to put out the small fire quickly. According to MCFRS radio transmissions, the fire was situated on the top of a small cabinet which in a kitchen on the first floor, which was having some renovation work done.


All occupants were able to escape the townhouse without injury. Firefighters use fans to clear the smoke created by the fire. The actual cause of the fire was unknown at the time of publication.
