Teenager Arrested After Shooting on Crystal Rock Drive
Montgomery County Police have arrested a Germantown teenager after they say he took multiple shots with a handgun a group of people in the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown during the evening of Wednesday, June 29.
According to police, 19-year-old Fredis Alexis Mendoza-Giron, who lives in the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive got into a verbal dispute with a group of at least three people, who were outside of the townhouse at 19706 Crystal Rock Drive at about 9:30 pm on June 29. Mendoza-Giron allegedly took out a gun and opened fire, shooting at the group multiple times. Police say he emptied all of the bullets in his handgun while firing at the group, who had scattered for cover. Although Mendoza-Giron was aiming at the individuals, no one was struck or injured in the shooting, according to MCPD.
Once the intended victims realized that the gun was empty, they began to chase Mendoza-Giron. He took off and fled. While fleeing, he forced his way into neighboring townhouse unit in the 19700 block Crystal Rock Drive, which is where responding police captured him.
