Seneca Valley High School Needs Coaches

July 13, 2016

With less than a month to go until the official open of Fall sports Seneca Valley High School has four coaching vacancies to fill, according to Jesse Irvin, Seneca Valley’s Athletic Director.

“We currently have eight coaching vacancies, four of which are for the fall season which begins on August 10,” said Irvin. The fall openings are Junior Varsity Boys Soccer Coach, Junior Varsity Field Hockey Coach, Varsity Girls Volleyball head coach, and Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball coach explained Irvin.

Coaches need not be teachers or current Montgomery County, but all candidates must be 21-years-old and will be required to undergo a background check prior to being hired. “Coaching jobs require at least 12 hours per week, but is normally more,” said Irvin. “The compensation ranges per position, but is normally between $2,500 and $3,500 for the entire season.”

The other four vacancies are for the Spring 2017 season, which will begin March 1, 2017, said Irvin. For the Spring season, Seneca Valley must find a Boys Volleyball coach, a Coed Volleyball coach, a head coach for Varsity Boys Lacrosse, and a coach for the Junior Varsity Boys Lacrosse team.

Any interested candidates should contact Athletic Director Jesse Irvin via email at jesse_a_irvin@mcpsmd.org.  Candidates should also apply via the Montgomery County Public Schools Career Website, which will ask for applicants to upload a resume.
