Teens Arrested in Connection with Armed Robbery and Burglary
Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from May 2 through May 10, 2016.
Montgomery County Police have arrested four Germantown teenagers in connection with two separate incidents which took place in Gaithersburg.
The first incident, which took place on Sunday, May 7 involved the armed robbery of a pizza delivery man. Police report that the victim was making a delivery in the 100 block of Watkins Station Circle in Gaithersburg at 12:14 am on May 7, when he was approached by three suspects in the parking lot in front of 113 Watkins Station Circle. One of the suspects displayed a knife and demanded the pizza delivery man’s money.
MCPD arrested two of the three suspects. Police arrested a 16-year-old male of the 20700 block of Scottsbury Drive in Germantown and a 17-year-old male of the 1000 block of Taverney Terrace in Gaithersburg.
Montgomery County Police also report, that three teens were arrested in connection with an attempted burglary in Gaithersburg which occurred on Monday, May 9. According to police, the a female victim was at home in the 9400 block of Horizon Run Road in Gaithersburg at about 12:53 pm when she heard a noise and saw someone attempting to open a ground-level window. Upon seeing the would-be burglars, the victim screamed the suspects fled the area.
MCPD arrested a 16-year-old male from Sweetgum Circle in Germantown, a 14-year-old male from Galloway Bay Circle in Germantown, and a 13-year-old male from Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown.
Police also arrested a Germantown man in connection with a residential burglary on Esmond Terrace in Germantown on Friday, May 6 between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Police arrested Michael Dawson Vernon, 24, of the 20200 block Tidewinds Way after he attempted to kick in the basement door of the residence. Police say Vernon and the owner of the residence know each other and when the owner would not speak to him, Vernon attempted kick open the door.
MCPD also reported a residential burglary in the 20500 block of Staffordshire Drive on Friday, May 6 between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. Police say the residence was broken into and property was stolen.
Police also report multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, May 6 to vehicles parked on Willow Spring Circle and Laurel Grove Place. No force; property taken.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on May 27.
