Worker Dies After Fall From Cell Tower in Damascus
A worker has died after falling from a cell tower this afternoon at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission water treatment plant in Damascus.
Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services senior spokesman Pete Piringer confirmed that units were called to the 22700 block of Log House Road in Damascus for the report of a worker falling from a cell phone tower at about 3:00 pm on Monday afternoon. The worker had already succumbed to injuries upon EMS arrival to the scene.
Montgomery County Police also confirmed that a worker had died, and they were investigating the death, but it did not appear to be suspicious. A spokesperson for WSSC said that a person had fallen and died, but that person was not a WSSC employee, and could not give any further details about the incident or the deceased.
