Crash Closes Wisteria Drive

May 16, 2016

A two-car collision closed Wisteria Drive at Walter Johnson Road for a time Monday morning.

The collision between two silver sedans, one a Toyota and the other a Hyundai occurred at about 9:30 am on Monday, May 16. Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue Units responded. EMS transported a five-year-old child suffering a minor non-life threatening head injury, according to MCFRS senior spokesman Pete Piringer.

According to police at the scene, the Toyota was travelling eastbound on Wisteria Drive and attempted to make a left turn onto Walter Johnson Road and did not see the Hyundai attempting to make a right turn out of Walter Johnson Road to Wisteria toward Germantown Road when both cars collided.

Montgomery County Police needed to close Wisteria Drive in both directions for about an hour.
