Rain Washes Out MoCo Weekend Sports

May 6, 2016

The seemingly unending rain this week has already forced the cancellation of many weekend youth sporting events in the Germantown area.

The Maryland SoccerPlex has cancelled all games for tomorrow, Saturday, May 7 with the exception of games played on the turf fields, and games to played on the natural grass fields No. 14 and No. 17. Games scheduled for the synthetic turf fields will be played as scheduled.

The SoccerPlex will make a determination as to the fate of games scheduled for Sunday, May 8 tomorrow.

Montgomery County has also closed baseball fields throughout the county. All Montgomery County Little League games scheduled to be played May 7 at the fields in South Germantown Park are cancelled. Parents should consult their coaches for the status of games in other locations.
