Teenage Girl Arrested After Attack in Town Center

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from April 4 through April 12.

   Montgomery County Police have arrested a teenage girl in connection with yet another incidence of violence in Germantown Town Center. Police arrested a 17-year-old Gaithersburg female and are looking for two more teenagers in connection with an assault and strong-arm robbery in the parking lot at 19708 Germantown Road, in the lot between the Wells Fargo Bank and Safeway Store in Germantown.

   Police said the incident took place on Wednesday, April 13 at approximately 7:00 pm. Three black females approached another female victim as she was sitting in her car. They assaulted her and grabbed her cellphone and property.

   This is the third incident of teenage girls beating and robbing someone in the Town Center in a month. On April 4, police arrested three girls in connection with a strong-arm robbery in front of the Germantown Library. Earlier, on March 23, MCPD arrested two teenage girls in connection with an attempted robbery in the 12900 block of Middlebrook Road.

   MCPD reports another strong arm robbery on a path near 19900 Brandermill Drive on April 7. According to police, the victim was walking along the path at 8:30 pm when he was attacked from behind by three black males who had been hiding in the bushes. They assaulted him and stole his cellphone, wallet, and cash.

   Police also arrested a teenager in connection with a residential burglary which took place at 10:30 am on April 11. Police say a neighbor witnessed a man wearing a black mask enter a side window of a home in the 23100 block of Meadow Mist Road in Clarksburg. Police say the suspect enter the home and stole property and cash. Based on the witness report, police were able to locate and arrest a 15-year-old white male, of Skylark Road in Clarksburg in connection with the burglary.

   Police reported two more burglaries in the Germantown/Clarksburg area. The first took place in the early morning hours of April, 11, in the 13700 block of Tribute Parkway in Clarksburg.

   An attempted residential burglary took place in early morning hours of April 12 at the 12700 block of Found Stone Road in Germantown.

   Police also reported a burglary at the Butler Montessori School located at 15951 Germantown Road, between 6:00 pm on April 7 and 9:00 am on April 8. Police say no forced entry, but cash was taken.

   MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on April 27.
