Improvised Shakespeare Company to Perform at BlackRock

April 13, 2016

The critically-acclaimed Chicago-based Improvised Shakespeare Company will perform at BlackRock Center for the Arts the week before the Bard’s birthday. Based on one audience suggestion (a title for a play that has yet to be written), The Improvised Shakespeare Company creates a fully improvised Shakespearean masterpiece right before the audiences’ very eyes.

Each of the players in The Improvised Shakespeare Company has brushed up on his “thee’s” and “thou’s” to bring you an evening of off-the-cuff comedy show using the language and themes of William Shakespeare. Nothing has been planned out, rehearsed, or written. All of the dialogue is said for the first time, the characters are created as you watch, and if you’re wondering where the story is going…so are they. The night could reveal a tragedy, comedy, or history. Each play is completely improvised, so each play is entirely new.

The Improvised Shakespeare Company will perform at BlackRock Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 16 at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Tickets are $18-$26 and are on sale in person, over the phone by calling 240.912.1058, or online at blackrockcenter.org.
