Two Teenage Girls Arrested for Attempted Robbery

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from March 15 through March 27.

MCPD police arrested two teenage girls in connection with an attempted robbery and assault of a third teenage girl which took place on Wednesday, March 23 in the area of Germantown Town Center in the 12900 block of Middlebrook Road. The attempted robbery took place at 9:00 pm. The victim was talking on her phone, when two other girls, a 15-year-old black female, and a 16-year-old black female began assaulting her, and one attempted to take her cell phone. Police said all three girls knew each other before the incident.

5th District Police have been dealing with a number of problems with groups of juveniles in the Town Center, last week Germantown Police Commander David Gillespie said that he had increased the number of officers in the area to better deal with these groups of teenagers in Germantown’s Central Business District.

MCPD reported another attempted robbery which occurred in the 19100 block of Partridge Wood Drive in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 24. Police said two suspects one black male and one white male followed the male victim as he walked on Partridge Wood Drive at about 1:00 am. The suspects approached the victim from behind, while wearing masks and demanded cash. When the victim refused to comply, the suspects attacked him and ran away without stealing anything.

Montgomery County Police also reported a robbery in the area of Gunners Branch Road in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 27. Police say two black male suspects in their early 20s approached a male victim from behind at about 2:00 am on Wednesday morning. The suspects struck him in the head with a stick. After assaulting the victim, the suspects searched his pants and stole cash.

MCPD reported a number of residential burglaries in the 5th District area.

The first residential burglary occurred in the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown on Thursday, Mach 14 between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Police said that burglars broke into the residence and stole property.

The second burglary took place in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 17 in the 14000 block of Jump Drive in Germantown. Again police report that there was evidence of forced entry and property was stolen.
