Car Jumps Curb Plows into Backyard in Germantown

April 9, 2016

Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue units were called to the unit block of Climbing Ivy Drive in Germantown for the report of a car that had driven into a backyard.

The call came in shortly before 6:30 pm that a vehicle had jumped the curb, and plowed through a wooden fence, struck an HVAC unit out before coming to rest in the backyard of a townhouse on Climbing Ivy Drive, which is just off Great Seneca Highway. According to police sources, the driver had some sort of medical emergency and jumped the curb and kept going into the backyard. Luckily nobody was in the backyard at the time.

MCFRS senior spokesman Pete Piringer said that EMS evaluated and transported two people, and adult female and one child. Both of whom were in the vehicle, and reportedly had non-life threatening injuries.

Montgomery County Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
