Police Arrest Man After Attempted Armed Robbery in Safeway Parking Lot
Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Feb. 29 through March 8.
Officers from the 5th District in Germantown arrested a Germantown man after he approached a woman in the Safeway parking lot in the 19700 block of Germantown Road in Germantown and demanded money in broad daylight at about 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8.
According to police, the arrested suspect, a 22-year-old white male, Tyler Alexander Parise, of 20500 Lowfield Drive in Germantown approached the female victim as she was walking to her car. He showed her a BB gun in his waistband and demanded money. The woman quickly got in her car and drove away before calling the police.
According to Maryland Case Search, the suspect Parise, has a history of over 15 theft, burglary, and drug arrests dating back to November 2012.
MCPD also reports a robbery took place in the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive at about 11:30 pm on Sunday, March 6. Police say the female victim has just gotten off a Ride On Bus and was walking through the parking lot of the Kinder Care at Town Center on Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown when she was approached by two men who assaulted her and stole her purse. Police say the men, who were light skinned punched the woman in the head and stomach before running off with her purse and cash. Police said the victim did not provide a good description of her assailants.
Police reported two residential burglaries between Feb. 29 and March 8. The first took place on Monday, Feb. 29 in the 24900 block of Kings Valley Road in Damascus between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm. Police report the burglar(s) broke into the residence and stole property.
Another residential burglary occurred in the 23100 Block of Robin Song Drive in Clarksburg on Thursday, March 4 between 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm. No forced entry and nothing was taken.
MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred, and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on March 18.
