BlackRock to Feature Stage Adaptations of Children’s Classics
Following last season’s multiple-performance sell-outs of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia will bring their family-friendly adaptations of Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny to BlackRock Center for the Arts Sunday, March 20 at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Based on the classic children’s books by Margaret Wise Brown, the one-hour stage adaptations feature the endearing animal puppets, stunning scenic effects and evocative music that have earned international recognition for Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia.
Adapted from Margaret Wise Brown’s sixty-year-old classic, Goodnight Moon is a celebration of familiar nighttime rituals, while The Runaway Bunny’s pretend tale of leaving home evokes reassuring responses from his loving mum. The hour-long staged adaptation brings a fresh appreciation of the stories and images that have delighted several generations.
This presentation of Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny will take place BlackRock’s Studio Theater, and is General Admission with both chairs and floor seating. This show is geared toward early childhood learning, and children of all ages (including babes-in-arms) need to have tickets purchased.
Tickets to see Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny at BlackRock Center for the Arts are $15-$21 and are on sale in person, over the phone by calling 240.912.1058, or online at blackrockcenter.org.
