MoCo’s Got Talent Auditions to be Held in Germantown on Saturday

Montgomery County Recreation announces auditions for the third annual MoCo’s Got Talent, which is a countywide talent competition for middle and high school students to showcase their talents in visual and performing arts.

   Auditions are open to all Montgomery County residents who are enrolled in middle or high school.

   Germantown auditions will be held Saturday, March 18 at the Germantown Community Recreation Center on Kingsview Road in Germantown from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

   Participants must register in advance on ActiveMONTGOMERY using one of the activity numbers listed below. To register for the Germantown auditions, use activity number 17218.

   Auditions will be held at three additional locations throughout the County on the following dates:

   April 1        Mid County Community Recreation Center     (activity number 17219)

   April 8        Jane Lawton Community Recreation Center    (activity number 17220)

   April 15      White Oak Community Recreation Center       (activity number 17221)

   Participants may enter in either or both of these two categories: visual arts and performing arts. Groups/bands may register; however, all members of the group must meet the registration requirements. Finalists will perform at the MoCo’s Got Talent finale at The Fillmore Silver Spring performance venue on Sunday, May 22.

   The winner of the performing arts category will perform as an opening act during one of the Silver Spring Summer Concerts and in the 2016 Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade.

   MoCo's Got Talent serves as a platform for creative expression, inspiring young people to share their passion and reach higher. The competition aims to promote the importance of the arts in the lives of youth with the hope of keeping the arts alive and thriving in all of Montgomery County.
