Cougars Nip Coyotes in Double Overtime

Quince Orchard has lost just two games all season, and it took two extra periods for the Cougars to avenge one of those losses last night. The Cougars beat Clarksburg 63-61 in two overtimes Wednesday night in Darnestown.

Quince Orchard is now 18-2 this season and has not lost since their last meeting with Clarksburg on January 21. Their only other loss came at the hands of Bethesda Chevy-Chase on December 11. Both losses were road games for the Cougars, and they remain unbeaten at home this season.

Clarksburg gave Quince Orchard all sort of trouble last night in a hard-fought game. The game was tied 52 apiece at the end of regulation, and it ended after two overtimes with Quince Orchard prevailing 63-61. Quince Orchard’s John Fierstein’s 24 points to lead all scorers was the major difference in the game. It as the junior’s layup in the final seconds that sealed the victory for the Cougars.
