BlackRock Center for the Arts will present the local, American pianist virtuoso Thomas Pandolfi in the Center’s airy, light-filled Kay Gallery on Sunday, February 21 at 4:00 pm.

The program for the afternoon is called “The Piano, Spanish Romance and the Movies” and will feature pieces by Richard Addinsell, Manuel Ponce, Enrique Granados, Ernesto Lecuona, Frederic Chopin, and Manuel de Falla, and will conclude with a Pandolfi’s own virtuoso transcription on Marvin Hamlisch's most beloved melodies.

Thomas Pandolfi will lead a piano workshop for ticket holders at noon and sign CD’s following the afternoon’s concert. Space is limited for the piano workshop so ticket holders who are interested in attending should RSVP at blackrockcenter.org.

With each passing season, Pandolfi is becoming more and more sought after by audiences worldwide, and showered with superlatives by critics for his passionate artistry and amazing technique. His orchestral appearances often feature not only the beloved masterpiece concerti by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Liszt, but also the equally brilliant ones by Paderewski, Rubinstein and Moszkowski. Additionally in the "Pops" genre, Thomas' critically acclaimed performances of Rhapsody in Blue (Gershwin), Concerto in F (Gershwin), Warsaw Concerto (Addinsell) and the James Bond Concerto (Proctor) are immensely popular.

A graduate of The Juilliard School, Pandolfi earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees as a scholarship student. He is the father of two children, and resides in Washington, DC.
