Four Burglaries Reported in the Germantown Area

Montgomery County Police Department reported a number of criminal incidents in Germantown from Jan. 18 through Jan. 31.

There were four burglaries in Germantown in the last two weeks of January, three residential burglaries and one commercial burglary.

The first two occurred on Thursday, Jan, 21. One in the 22700 block of Muscadine Drive in Germantown between 4:00 pm and 7:15 pm. Police report that there was evidence of forced entry and property was stolen.

The second took place in the 23100 block of Robin Song Drive in Clarksburg between 4:45 pm and 10:00 pm. Again police report that there was forced entry to the residence and property was taken.

A third residential burglary occurred in the 12200 block of Stoney Bottom Road in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 27. No forced entry; nothing was taken. According to police, a homeless suspect was taking shelter in the detached garage. MCPD arrested Benjamin Rotering, 28-year-old white male of an unconfirmed address.

Montgomery County Police reported a commercial burglary at 19873 Century Boulevard in Germantown, between Friday, Jan. 22 and Monday, Jan. 25. No forced entry and nothing was taken, except the office refrigerator was emptied.

Police arrested a 20-year-old Germantown man for indecent exposure on Thursday, Jan. 21 in the 19900 block of Sweetgum Circle between 4:45 pm and 6:30 pm. According to police, officers from the 5th District in Germantown were responding to another call on Sweetgum Circle when Isaiah Edward Gennes, allegedly exposed himself to police officers and was arrested.

MCPD reminds residents that additional incidents may have occurred, and the reports had not yet been received at the time of publication, on Feb 5.
