County Executive Urges Residents to Stay Home Monday

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett is urging residents to stay home and not go to work, if possible, on Monday, Jan. 25 as the County continues to clean up after the massive snowfall from the Blizzard of ’16.

“We are asking folks if they can — not to go to work tomorrow,” said Leggett at a news conference held at the County Emergency Manager Office Sunday evening. “You have the challenge of getting out of the residential communities to whatever lines of transportation. Keep in mind that WAMATA is not running a full schedule tomorrow, only a limited schedule and our Ride On buses will not be running.”

Montgomery County has closed all County offices and facilities tomorrow, and MCPS will be closed both Monday and Tuesday. Governor Larry Hogan has ordered all Maryland State Government offices to be closed tomorrow.

“We encourage people to please stay home and continue to stay off the roads.”
