Public Tips Leads to Arrest of Germantown Robbery Suspects

Montgomery County Police say that tips from the public led to the arrest of two individuals who were wanted in connection with the strong-arm robbery of three individuals after they exited a Ride-On bus in Germantown in November.

MCPD 5th District Investigative Section officers arrested Jywan Byron Henderson, 18, of the 16900 block of Longdraft Road in Gaithersburg, and Isaiah Terrell Scott, 18, of the 18900 block of Perrone Drive in Germantown, for the November 25 robbery at the Ride-On bus stop located at Clopper Road and Timko Lane in Germantown. Cyril Atimos Doherty, 18, also involved in the robbery, was arrested on the day of the robbery.

On November 25, three victims reported that they had been robbed by three suspects after exiting a Ride-On bus at Clopper Road and Timko Lane. After the robbery, one suspect, identified as Doherty, was located by officers in the area and was arrested. The other two suspects fled from the scene.

Earlier this week on Monday, Dec. 21, detectives released photographs of the two unknown suspects, and Germantown Pulse ran the story. Police asked for the public’s help in identifying these two suspects. Detectives received Crime Solvers tips and were able to identify Henderson and Scott as the two suspects and arrest them the following day on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Henderson and Scott were each charged with one count of robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. Henderson is being held on a $12,500 bond and Scott is being held on a $10,000 bond.

The tipsters who called Crime Solvers and provided information about this case are eligible for a reward and are asked to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) and provide their tip number.
