Sage Way Murder Victim was Frederick Resident

Montgomery County Police have identified the man who was shot and killed in front of a Sage Way townhouse on Wednesday night as Robert Wayne King, 30, of Frederick.

   The shooter remains at large. Police could not release any information about the suspect. Police are investigating if this shooting is related to drug activity in the area, but were not able to narrow their focus at this time, said MCPD spokesman Capt. Paul Starks. He also said that investigators are looking into the possibility that there is some known association between the victim and suspect or suspects. Starks confirmed that MCPD had been called to the neighborhood for drug related issues in the past.

   Montgomery County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information the leads to an arrest of the suspect in this case.

   Fifth District-Germantown Police were called to the address at about 7:14 pm Wednesday night Dec. 16 for the report of gunshots. Arriving officers located an adult male outside of the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, suffering from life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries, said police.
