Kingsview PTSA Silent Auction to Benefit Technology at Middle School
The Kingsview Middle School PTSA is hoping to raise $20,000 or more to help support Kingsview Middle School technology initiatives through a Silent Auction and Raffle, which will be held Friday, Dec. 11 at the school.
“Montgomery County Public Schools lost over $53 million in its budget,” said Kim Summers, President, Kingsview Middle School PTSA, “This resulted in the loss of almost 400 teaching positions and technology purchases for our students to use in the classroom. The need has never been greater than this year to help support our local public schools.”
The Silent Auction will feature more than 330 items and all monies raised will go back to the school. “When we meet our goal, we will purchase Chromebook laptops that will turn any classroom into a computer lab for classroom projects, work, and research,” said Sherry Gowarty, vice president of fundraising for the PTSA.
“We are hoping that this to be a big event with over $40,000 of items to auction and raffle, including over 30 hotel stays, tickets to the Daily Show in New York City, lots of local restaurants, gift baskets and sports tickets for all a local professional teams,” said Gowarty.
"Folks can also browse through our Website to see our selection of over 330 items up for bid or raffle,” said Gowarty. “We’re excited about this year’s auction, and we have something for everyone. Visitors can take a look around and create their very own wish list on our Website." Folks that can’t be present at the Silent Auction can download and return the Absentee Bidder form. It must be returned to Kingsview Middle School by Dec. 11.
The event will take place on Friday, Dec. 11 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Kingsview Middle School, which is located at 18909 Kingsview Road in Germantown.
