Germantown Dentist Sentenced in Child-Sex-for-Drugs Case

A Germantown dentist with an office in Hagerstown was sentenced to two years’ probation for arranging to have sex with a 12-year-old girl in exchange for prescription painkillers and cash.

The Herald-Mail reports that Vaqar Choudry, 44, of Little Fox Lane in Germantown was sentenced Thursday, Nov. 19 in Hagerstown. Washington County Circuit Judge James Sherbin suspended a five-year prison term.

On Sept. 12, 2013, Choudry was arrested at the Motel 6 on Massey Boulevard in Halfway, Md. after he tried to set up a sexual encounter with a person he believed was a 12-year-old girl. Instead, police arrested him outside the motel room in which the fictitious girl was supposed to be waiting. The motel he was arrested at was located near his Hagerstown office, according to reports.

Choudry pleaded guilty to a related federal drug charge last year. He served 95 days in jail and is on three years’ probation for that offense. His state dentistry license was suspended in 2013.
