Chinese Dive Team to Perform in Germantown



The Montgomery County Recreation Department will host the “East Meets West 2015 Dive Show” at 1:00 pm on Sunday, Nov. 29 at the Germantown Indoor Swim Center located at 18000 Central Park Circle in Boyds. The event will feature 12 members from China’s Guangdong Provincial Diving Team who may become future Chinese Olympians. Chinese divers are recognized as the most skilled divers in the world.

The show will also include diving demonstrations from local top young divers and a clown diving exhibition. Live music will be performed by artist BT, a Rockville native, who was nominated for “Best Electronic/Dance Album” category at the 2011 GRAMMY Awards.

“It is a pleasure to welcome the young China’s Guangdong Provincial Divers to Montgomery County,” said County Executive Ike Leggett. “These youth, like our County youth, are dedicated and committed to doing the hard work necessary to achieve goals and realize dreams.”

“Montgomery County Recreation is very proud to have China’s Guangdong Provincial Dive Team use our nationally recognized aquatic facilities while visiting Montgomery County, “ said Recreation Department Director Gabe Albornoz. “We are looking forward to an incredible performance that showcases the skills of the Chinese divers as well as our local accomplished athletes.”

Tickets for the “East Meets West Dive Show” are available online at ActiveMONTGOMERY, where you can set- up an account and purchase tickets. Tickets are first come, first served and are expected to sell out. Three levels of tickets are available for purchase: Upper Deck $15 use course number 12429 or Lower Deck $25 use course number 12974.
