MCPD in Standoff With Alleged Armed Man in Germantown

November 6, 2015

As of 10:50 pm on Thursday, Nov. 5, Montgomery County Police were responding to a barricade standoff with a possibly armed man in a Germantown residence.

Police say they received a 911 call at 8:38 pm for a report of a possibly armed man in the 12300 block of Slivergate Way in Germantown. The MCPD Emergency Response Team is at the scene working with the subject to bring about a peaceful end to the situation.

Silvergate Way is a no outlet apartment complex of three buildings. Police have not released in which building the standoff is taking place.

Police are stopping traffic in both direction along Wisteria Drive at Sky Blue Drive near Gunners Branch Lake and at Waring Station Road as this situation unfolds. This still a developing situation. Germantown Pulse will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
