Fire Damages Townhouse on Skip Jack Drive

Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service units were called to a fire which damaged a townhouse at 12107 Skip Jack Drive in Germantown, at 7:40 pm on Friday evening.

Arriving units found small fire on the rear deck of a middle-of-the-row townhouse, according to MCFRS senior spokesman Pete Piringer. Firefighters quickly extinguished the small fire, which was electrical in nature, but while checking investigating discovered that the fire had extended into the exterior wall of the unit.

According to Piringer, the fire did approximately $5,000 in damage to the structure and $2,000 in damage to the contents of the townhouse. There were no injuries reported, and the occupants refused Red Cross assistance.
